Claire McLaughlin is a Lecturer at Global Launch’s Intensive English Program. Her role includes program development of custom group programs for English for specific purposes, specifically for students from Japan and Mexico. She has developed English as a Second Language (ESL) curriculum for both face-to-face and online English courses including the Coursera MOOC, ELL Success in the Content Classroom: Teacher Toolbox Series. She has also taught in several teacher training programs with teachers from Vietnam, Peru and China, giving her a global perspective

Ms. McLaughlin has prior experience in a variety of teaching settings before coming to Arizona State University including teaching English in Japan. She has also taught ESL to children in K-12, adults in community centers, and college students in Wisconsin, Nevada and Arizona. She earned her Master’s degree in Education from Cardinal Stritch University in Wisconsin and a Bachelor’s degree in Communication from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee. She also holds a Pre K- 12 teacher certification in teaching ESL in Wisconsin.

Elizabeth Mosaidis

Elizabeth Mosaidis is a Lecturer with Global Launch at Arizona State University. A Nebraska native, Elizabeth has been teaching English as a Second Language and Foreign Language since 2003.

A year-long volunteer experience grew into a love for teaching, and an inspiration to teach abroad. Elizabeth has taught in Japan, South Korea, Puerto Rico, and Spain, before settling down in Phoenix.

Now she trains teachers from Peru and Vietnam, writes articles related to language learning, and assists with the development of an award-winning TESOL Certificate MOOC, Teach English Now!.

Elizabeth has a B.A., Northwest Missouri State University, and a M.A., Inter American University of Puerto Rico.

Catherine DeGaytan

Catherine DeGaytan has been teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) for nearly 30 years. She holds a B.A. in Latin American Studies from Tulane University and an M.Ed. in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from Temple University, where she began her teaching career at the Intensive English Language Program in 1988. Since then, Catherine has taught ESL in different regions of the United States to students from all over the world.

In addition to her teaching experience in the U.S., Catherine has taught English abroad, twice in Saudi Arabiaat the Institute of Public Administration, where she taught English to Saudi women who were preparing to enter the workforce. Catherine also served as an English Language Fellow at Al-Azhar University in Cairo, Egypt, where she and three colleagues developed a semi-intensive English program for professors primarily from the faculties of Islamic Studies.

During her career, Catherine has had experience with business English, curriculum and materials development, and program administration. She has also mentored TESOL graduate students, trained teachers, and taught and evaluated international teaching assistants.

Catherine’s professional interests include pronunciation instruction and projects focusing on social responsibility. She has made several presentations at Annual TESOL Conventions and published articles about these same interests.
